Do Kids Eat Fast Food Because They Like Ronald McDonald?

Corporate Accountability Group, a non-profit, wants fast food companies to stop marketing their foods to children. They feel that iconic marketing figures like the McDonalds clown encourage children to eat fast food. In an open letter to McDonalds, the group asks the company to stop using Ron McDonald or toys as marketing tools to attract kids towards fast food.

The group is supported by over 550 health organizations in its crusade against fast food marketing tricks targeting kids. But the opinion is divided on just how effective Ron McDonald really is.

Many kids find the fast food giant's marketing clown rather creepy, and that it's mostly the toys the kids fall for. Others have suggested that the problem doesn't lie with McDonald's advertising campaign, but with the parents who take their children to fast food restaurants.
