Burger King Goes Green

Burger King has opened a new energy efficient restaurant in Germany. Following the trail of many business and people who have gone green over the last few years, Burger King is now well on their way to making ground breaking changes to their establishment, that will save the chain over half of their energy costs each year. That is an enormous amount of cash, considering how much energy is used each day by the popular fast food establishment.

The Burger King has been made more efficient through the use of solar and turbine energy, in addition to some low level traditional use. The restaurant is also trapping the excessive heat that it produces and utilizing it to heat water for washing dishes and cleaning. The solar panels alone should generate 53,500 KWh or electricity each year for the establishment.

Let's hope that this soon becomes the norm rather than the exception for business maintenance. Way to go Burger King! For more about this Burger King check out this article.
